In an interview with Judith Kerman recorded in Havana in 1996, leading cultural critic and novelist Reynaldo González described art's place in the Cuban Revolution, a revolution which is still going on from the Cuban perspective, and Dulce María’s role in Cuban literature of the 20th century. To González, Dulce María was especially important because she was a living example of literature you could do at the margins. |
