Judith Kerman, Publisher/Editor of Mayapple Press, has published nine books or chapbooks of poetry and translations, including Praises & Offenses: Three Women Poets from the Dominican Republic (BOA Editions, 2009), Galvanic Response (March Street Press, 2005), the bilingual collection Plane Surfaces/Plano de Incidencia (Santo Domingo: CCLEH, 2002), and A Woman in Her Garden: Selected Poems of Dulce María Loynaz (Cuban; 1992 Cervantes Prize laureate—White Pine Press). She was a Fulbright Senior Scholar to the Dominican Republic in 2002, translating the poetry and fiction of contemporary Dominican women. |
Amee Schmidt, a flash-fiction writer and occasional poet, is Associate Editor of Mayapple Press, and a graduate student in CMU’s Creative Writing Program. She is co-editor of and contributor to Greenhouse: The First 5 Years of the Rustbelt Roethke Writers’ Workshop. Her work has also appeared in Cardinal Sins and The Ambassador Poetry Project. She shoots tournament pool and has competed nationally. She would someday like her friends and family to see her play on ESPN. |
Matthew Falk has recently had his short stories and poems published in H_NGM_N, Shoots and Vines, The Ambassador Poetry Project, The Catalonian Review, A cappella Zoo, and elsewhere. His former identities have included musician, writing center tutor, convenience store manager, accounts payable drone, radio announcer, and amusement park ride operator. He is working on an MFA in fiction at the University of Baltimore. |
